The Triffid Announces 2025 QLD Album Of The Year Nominees
Queensland's biggest celebration of homegrown music is back, and the nominees are in! The Triffid has revealed the five Queensland artists going head to head for the 2025 Album Of The Year title.
Presented in partnership with The Music, this annual tradition puts the decision in the hands of the people, with public voting open now from Tuesday 21 October until Friday 21 November (5pm). It's time to throw your support behind your favourite Queensland act and help decide who takes home the crown.
On Thursday 27 November at The Triffid in Meanjin/Brisbane, the winner's album will be unveiled in true Triffid style, with a big banner drop before taking its place on the legendary Hero Wall alongside Queensland icons Powderfinger, Violent Soho, Cub Sport and The Go-Betweens. This is a free entry event, so don't miss it!
The winning artist will also score a $3.8K marketing package from The Music and a full rehearsal day in The Triffid Live Room
Fans don't miss out either. Everyone who votes goes in the draw to win a double pass to Spilt Milk 2025, featuring Kendrick Lamar, Doechii, Dominic Fike and more.
Last year, The Dreggs took home the crown for their debut album Caught In A Reverie, joining past winners The Chats, Tia Gostelow, Beddy Rays, Busby Marou and more. Now, it's time for a brand new champion to rise.
Here are your 2025 nominees:
- Full Flower Moon Band - Megaflower
- Sycco - Zorb
- King Stingray - For The Dreams
- Mallrat - Light Hit My Face Like A Straight Right
